OEM Spark Plugs

Your vehicle's engine must burn a mix of fuel and oxygen to produce power. Its factory spark plugs start the process. How does a spark plug work? Put your key into its lock cylinder and turn it to activate your ignition switch. Suddenly, many other ignition parts start working -- everything from your car battery to a starter motor, solenoid, and an ignition coil. Together, they produce a small electrical charge, sending it to the plug. When electricity reaches its lead, the air and gas inside your engine combust. As the mix burns, it releases power. Your engine pistons start pumping, your crankshaft gets going, and your vehicle's many other parts get moving. Without a good set of OEM spark plugs, though, that vehicle you love driving wouldn't start at all. To make matters worse, even the best spark plugs can go bad. Their leads can rust or widen, weakening the charges they pick up. Plus, when bad spark plugs aren't otherwise causing an engine misfire, they can shut down an engine entirely. Broken spark plugs, though, are a worst-case scenario: they usually cause severe engine cylinder damage. Luckily, those made by your brand get built to last, for as many as 100,000 miles. That's millions of ignitions. Just be sure you change any spark plug that's close to the mileage limit recommended by your owner's manual.
